X-LS was founded in Heidelberg in 2001. Until then, both founders had been working in quite different fields of work. These were, among others, Technical Translation (Instructional Manuals and Software Localization), Economy and Finance as well as Certified Translation.

Both founders have gained considerable work experience abroad and have been assigned regularly at international trade fairs in Germany since 1999.
